"BACKSTROKE" PREMIERE
Backstroke
Sometimes actors agree to work on projects that don't pay a lot. And sometimes actors agree to work on projects that don't pay anything at all; they're just glad to have the experience. Regardless, the hope is that, someday, their efforts will be rewarded. Such is the case with Riveted actors Amee Walden and Bill Gillane. A while ago, they starred in a short film called "Backstroke" (directed by Amy Bronson), and guess what - it premiered on the MTV network LOGO on May 7th, 2008. How cool is that?! You can check out the website at backstrokefilm.com to get all the details about this very entertaining film.

THIS KID HAS GOT TALENT! (WITH A CAPITAL "T")
Brandon M.
So here's the story: Brand new Riveted child actor, Brandon Mi., went to his first audition (for an "Untitled Clay Olsen Project" - a short film which may eventually be called "Polly") back in mid-April and wouldn't you know - HE GOT THE PART! Now some of you might not think that this is noteworthy, but, to go to your very first audition and then actually get cast? WOW! Good job, Brandon. May The Force be with you ....

"HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 3" DANCER AUDITIONS
3
During the week of March 11th - March 15th, 2008, Riveted owner Shawn Mehling was asked to be a casting associate for the "High School Musical 3" dancer auditions. He obliged, of course, and it proved to be a crazy week. They auditioned over 1100 dancers in 3 days (!) and then had two days of callbacks. Shawn said, "It was fun to reconnect with Bonnie and Kenny and some of the auditioning dancers." (Shawn was the extras casting director for the first "High School Musical".) Look for the film to premiere in movie theaters across America sometime in the fall of 2008.

OLD TIME RADIO
3
Film director Shiloh Painter held auditions for her short film "Old Time Radio" the second week of March and Riveted actors Bill Gillane and Jason Jensen got cast in supporting roles. Good job, guys! By the way, Riveted owner Shawn Mehling also agreed to help produce the film.

THREE CALLBACKS?!?
3!!!

Only four actors were submitted for roles in director Mary Boregino's short film called "The Black Ear", and of those four actors, three (3) of them got callbacks. Yay! They were Thomas McMinn, Jason Jensen, and Anne Marie Jensen.

AMEE WALDEN: Riveted AGENCY'S FIRST SUCCESS STORY!
3
So a movie called "The Cusp" (now called "The Cell 2") held auditions back in November and Riveted actress Amee Walden was cast as "Penelope", a supporting lead in the film. COOL! Look for the film to come out some time in the fall of 2008. By the way, it also starred Frank Whaley ("Pulp Fiction") and Chris Bruno (Tv's "The Dead Zone") and was directed by Tim Iacofano (Tv's "24" producer/director).

RIVETED'S FIRST BOOKING!
3
Back in late November, Shawn got a call from the manager (Karen Olson) of the Metropolitan Restaurant of Salt Lake City and asked if he could supply 4 Christmas carolers for a business party that the restaurant was hosting. Shawn said, "Of course!" So Shawn found Douglas Erickson - a local singer and musician - and booked him and 3 of his friends for two twenty-minute sessions of singing on December 1st. They sang various Christmas carols for the guests of the party and they were a hit! Congrats to Riveted on its first booking and to Douglas & friends for making it a success!

"THE ADVENTURES OF Y"
Y
Riveted Agency owner Shawn Mehling coproduced and cast an independent feature film over the summer called "The Adventures of Y", directed by James Bereece, an up-and-coming local filmmaker who's going to make a name for himself in this business very soon. Several Riveted Agency actors were cast in various roles in "Y" including: Jason Jensen, Tali Jeppsen, Thomas McMinn, Bryan James and Anne Marie Jensen. "Y" is currently in post-production and will premiere in Salt Lake City hopefully by Christmas time.
